PROGRAM INFORMATION
EPIC is designed for anyone ages 4 to 18 years old regardless of their disability.
Total Registration Fees: $25.00
Practice: There are no weekly practices for this program.
Season: This is a 10-week program, 60-minute sessions
Start Date: Saturday,TBD

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Ventura AYSO EPIC Program provides a quality soccer experience for children whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams. EPIC teams may include, but are not limited to, those who are:
•  Blind or visually impaired
•  Amputees or with conditions that impair mobility
•  Mentally or emotionally challenged
•  Autistic
•  Down syndrome
•  Cerebral Palsy
We know that all children need to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance. The EPIC program offers that acceptance and carries the AYSO philosophy of Everyone Plays® to new heights – giving everyone a chance to play. EPIC is an alternative for young people choosing to enjoy modified rules, field size, and assistance of a helpful "buddy" on the field as needed.

No soccer experience necessary, just a big heart!

EPIC helps more than just the players. Buddies and other volunteers increase their appreciation and understanding of individuals with special needs. They find their lives greatly enriched by their involvement with their new friends. For parents thinking they would never see their children playing a sport or making new friends, EPIC gives them joy and hope. With your help parents are able to relax and enjoy watching their children having fun like other kids, perhaps for the first time. Being a Buddy to an EPIC player on the field can truly be a life-changing experience.

Buddies can earn community service hours/credits.
Volunteers and Buddies must complete the Volunteer Application Form for Region 39.
Buddies ages 14 to 18 years old must register under the AYSO Youth Volunteer Application.

VIP PROGRAM FAQ'S

Q: What is included in my registration?
A: Your registration includes your child’s AYSO National membership fee, insurance, a jersey and pair of shorts, pair of socks, small picture package, 10 weeks of instruction and we hope a ton a fun!

Q: Is there other equipment my child will need?
A: Shin guards are required for all AYSO activities. Athletic shoes or soccer cleats must be worn. No metal cleats or baseball cleats may be worn!

Q: Does my child need to bring a soccer ball with them?
A: Soccer balls will be provided for use at the fields, there is no need to bring a soccer ball with you. It may be helpful to purchase a ball for your child to play or practice with at home. If your son/daughter must bring their ball to the field be sure to write a name and phone number in permanent ink on the ball! We have many soccer balls go missing and several turned in without any way to return it to the owner. Age 5 to 8 years use a Size 3 soccer ball • Ages 9 to 12 use a Size 4 soccer ball • Ages 13 and up use a Size 5 soccer ball
